Agriculture
at the Neuhaus .

Being in harmony with nature: A real affair of the heart for us. The Neuhaus began its history, which spans several centuries, as early as 1649. Not as a hotel, but as a farm.

And even today, it is agriculture at the Neuhaus that is so close to our hearts. Our fields, fruit trees and alpine pastures have been looked after by us for generations and for generations, guests at our hotel in Mayrhofen, with its own farm, have enjoyed regional products that are transformed by our kitchen team into culinary masterpieces. Refined with mountain herbs from our own garden. Served in the original ambience of our parlours or under the canopy of the old trees in our garden. We are very proud of the fact that all our ingredients are, to a large extent, produced entirely by ourselves. And we want to preserve our natural treasures so that future generations can also enjoy the authentic taste of yesteryear. That is what we wish from the bottom of our hearts.

Regionality tastes so good

We believe that good things don't have to come from far away and focus on seasonality and regionality in our cuisine. In this way, the ecological footprint is skilfully minimised through the shortest possible transport routes and the region is promoted at the same time. Here you can enjoy tender, juicy meat from the calves and pigs of our alpine meadows, bacon produced by ourselves according to old tradition, wholesome dairy products from our dairy cows and even fish from our own fishery. The old fruit trees in our romantic garden provide the ingredients for our home-made schnapps. The berries that later end up as syrup, jams and chutney in the marketplace and on your breakfast plate come from the garden. Vegetables, herbs and flowers come from our farm garden. Our regional vegetable supplier from Thaur regularly supplies us with fresh regional vegetables.

Enjoy freshly caught

Our trout from the Ziller or Stilluptal spend their entire lives in the fresh mountain water of the Alps and grow up in their natural habitat. That's why they taste particularly good – especially when prepared by our experienced chefs. Would you like to catch your own dinner? With us you have the opportunity to fish yourself in our freshwater fish greens. We will be happy to prepare your catch for you afterwards. For more information, please just ask at our reception – we will be happy to help you!

Alpine farms

With our two alpine pastures Stilluptal with Lacknerbrunn, Kolmstube at 1,105 and the Brandstattalm on the Penken at 1,765 metres above sea level, we are actively preserving the cultural landscape and are committed to maintaining these historically grown alpine pastures. From our alp in the Stilluptal comes the Meisterwurz, a regional schnapps speciality and a real piece of history that you can enjoy during your holiday in the Zillertal. A fixed point in our calendar of events is the seasonal "Almabtrieb". Colourfully decorated cows with large bells are either sent off to the alpine pastures or return to the valley after a sunny season. This ancient custom is accompanied by music, festivities and regional specialities.
